Hello and welcome to our Year 2 class page! My name is Mrs Smith and I am delighted to be your class teacher this year. Working alongside me is Mrs Withers, who will be supporting the children with their learning each day. Year 2 will also be taught by Mrs Gleave every Friday. Together, we are looking forward to creating a classroom where everyone feels happy, safe, and ready to learn. This year, we will enjoy new challenges, exciting topics and lots of opportunities to grow in confidence and independence.
This page will keep you updated with important information, class news, and celebrations of the wonderful things happening in Year 2. We can’t wait to work in partnership with you to make this a successful and enjoyable year for all.
School day
Magic Breakfast will be available for the children from 08:35 when our door opens.
Registration will then take place at 08:45.
School ends at 15:15 and the children should be collected from the Lower Key Stage 2 door.
The children are encouraged to bring a water bottle in daily. We provide fruit for the children as a snack.
PE
Year Two will have P.E every Thursday and Friday. Children should come to school in the correct PE uniform. Plain white t-shirt/polo, plain black leggings, joggers or shorts, plain black jacket/school jumper (no logos on PE uniform). Children must also take their earrings out to participate in the lesson. If your child is unable to remove their earrings themselves, please ensure this is done before the start of school.
Phonics and Spelling
For phonics and spelling we will continue to follow the Little Wandle scheme. You can access free parent support via the Little Wandle website if you wish to do so and we will also be happy to offer any additional support you may need in order to aid your child’s development throughout Year 2
