PE
PE at St Bridget's
Intent
Out intent for PE at St Bridget's is to challenge and promote self-esteem by developing physical confidence and problem solving through a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum. We encourage children to foster resilience in competitive, individual and team based physical activities and sport.
Implementation
At St. Bridget’s we teach PE through the use of REAL PE which is a unique, child-centred approach that transforms how we teach PE to engage and challenge every child in our school.
It provides fun and challenging PE to support children in Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 that enables them to achieve in PE, Gymnastics and Dance.
Children focus on the development of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning through a unique approach to teaching and learning in PE.
Effective expenditure of the Sports Premium ensures that all children have access to 60 active minutes per day and experience the broader fields of sport competition. Our after school clubs provide children with a variety of sport and activity to sample and develop their skills in.
